Challenge Brief:
Pick a day this week and tell us about it using your camera.
Rules:
1.) Submit as many or as few photos as you'd like.
2.) B/W or Colour
3.) please no tweaking
4.) Photos due Sat. July 18, 2009
This challenge is about telling a story, finding a way to narrate through pictures. You don't have to narrate your whole day, you can pick just a portion of it if you'd like. Have fun!
"Meeting Auggie" I had the privilege of meeting this little bundle of joy for the first time this week. We got to spend most of the week together but this series of photos are from hanging out one afternoon at Hilltop just chillin and enjoying the weather getting to know each other. It was such an honor to get to meet one of my best friends in the whole worlds new little guy. She is a gorgeous mom in every way. It is hard to believe this is her first. I can only wish to be half as good as she is someday. Steph: I am proud to know you and call you friend, even though the word friend does not seem an adequate word. I will miss you like crazy. Please make more of these while you're away and come back to me soon. Love you. :)

ReplyDeletecute set of photos, Erin!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the repetition of the sunglasses in this set of pics- I could tell that you were a little enamored by them! They got just about the same attention as auggie- who is a realy heartbreaker, by the way~
those eyes!!
Great series for the snippet of your day~ thanks for sharing :)
Em
I agree with EM on the repetition of the sunglasses. My favorite is the first and last. On the first, I love the angle and interesting sunglasses and on the last one, I love the giant sunglasses on the tiny baby. :-) The baby's face is priceless. He obviously does not appreciate them as much as we do.
ReplyDeleteHi Erin!
ReplyDeleteA little interesting fact, I get the impression that you were not as comfortable with your subject matter this week. Your photos sort of tell me that you were perhaps challenging yourself to tackle something a little less familiar. I'm happy that you chose to photograph mom and son! We don't see a lot of photos of other people from you.
It can be very difficult to photograph young young children because they really don't do much but crawl, sit and lay down. Some of your images here are much much stronger than the others.
When the subject does much of the same, cropping can add much interest to the image. That being said : my favorites are: 1, 5,7. In all these images you sort of captured the little guy in your unique style. They were all taken at an interesting angle, and quite minimalist in nature.
Did you struggle with getting photos of mom and son that you were happy with? I think they are nice images but not as strong as the close ups.
How nice to combine your challenge with your good friend and son. I'm sure she will LOVE these photos!
