I found all my "somethings" at the Jefferson County Fair!!! I borrowed someone's funnel cake to take a picture! ;) unfortunately it wasn't mine to devour.

  1. Hi, Erin!
    Happy Fourth of July!
I just had a feeling that you would incorporate an old vehicle of some kind...seems you like to photograph cars n stuff- and you are good at it!!
I love how all of these things are closely tied together in the fact that they were all from a fair- even if you hadn't said anything about taking these at the county fair, there is a small-town farm community feel to all of these. Great interpretations :)

  2. I REALLY like the feel of your pictures.

The tractor has a nice rustic feel to it with the sun shining upon it.

The egg photo is my FAVORITE picture of...maybe of the entire photo challenges! It feels very special to me. I really like the colors and the hens and the different colors of the eggs. I'm really drawn to this picture.

I like all of the delicate powdered sugary goodness of the third one. If anything, it seems a bit dark to me, but I like the shapes of it.

I like the perspective of the last one with the nice long line.

    Great series!

  3. I love that you have a unifying theme! I love small town fairs...and these pictures really bring a hint of nostalgia to mind.

My favorite is the chicken with the eggs on top! I think it's edgy and the colors are amazing.

    Great job!

  4. Love the fair theme, and it plays out well.

My fav is the funnel cake there is a lot of little detail of the plate, powder sugar and funnel cake... it also brings back fond memories.

The Something New is also a great composition and I love that the chickens in the photo, it adds depth and color.

  5. I know it probably sounds like a repeat comment, but I definitely like the eggs as the something new, very creative. It's also my favorite picture :). The series is very nice, can definitely tell that you had it themed. Also, I like the angles your pictures have.

  6. What a great set! These work together both in colour and content... although the last picture has more blue then the others, the blue works because of the grey of the chicken coop. Although I think there could have been a little more blue in maybe one of the photos, it would have helped the last one to not stick out so much.

Your tractor photo is as stunning as ever. I agree with Em that you have a knack for photographing old vehicles...perhaps you should look into making a little extra cash that way.

Yup, "New" is totally my favorite! (Can I have a copy? I'd love this for my kitchen! The creamy colour of the eggs is really pleasing...I do wish there were five instead of four, but that's just a personal issue I think. This photo also is a very warm image.

I love the angle of something borrowed but I think it would have been stronger had there been more light, or perhaps if your app. was open a little more. (how fast is your fastest lens?)

Wonderful job! Oh and I love the little reference to July 4th in the last photo.

  7. these are sweet!

The "old" one gives off an old farm midwest vibe to it. Very American looking.

The next one's great - made me smile at the concept. New and delicious. New and great with bacon. Also good job on the cage photo in general - the cage is out of focus but doesn't look weird or in the way - that's something I tend to find challenging if I try to take a cage or metal fence photo.

The "borrowed" one...isn't that more "bought"? Or did you steal (i.e. "borrow *wink wink*") it? ;) Still, it's a delicious and homey photo. Again, an All American county fair kind of feel.

And finally "blue"! Given the "americana" vibe to these photos, the flag in the pic really ties it all together.

    Great job on these!
